PLOFFF is not a crime

OFFF is one of world’s reference festivals for creativity, the kind of event Primavera Sound is for music. For its Barcelona edition, we were asked for one thing: an idea to put in the hands of every attendee. Be bold, they said, and leave the rest to us.

At a festival where everyone comes to show their best, we chose to show the failure. PLOFFF is the sound of an idea hitting the floor, that moment of collapse every project hides and no one admits. We built the whole thing around ours, the dead ends, the dumb ideas, the glow-in-the-dark spaghetti that never worked, into an honest conversation about where inspiration really comes from. It came as a publication, a set of stickers that turned the word into an attitude, and a flexi-disc record pressing the PLOFFF melody itself: the sound of failure, playable on a turntable.
